Find Your New Best Friend
Meet our adoptable pets and change two lives: theirs and yours
Because many of our animals are transported to larger shelters within the state, it’s challenging for us to maintain an updated photo montage of dogs and cats in our care. Therefore, we highly recommend you check our Facebook page regularly if you are interested in adopting a new pet. Or, better yet, stop between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM ET, Monday through Saturday, and take a look at the available felines and canines in our care. Plus, remember you can always call (850) 670-8417 at any time if you are looking for a specific animal, breed, size, or age.

Our Animals
All of the animals we offer for adoption will have been spayed or neutered and have received the appropriate vaccinations for their age. You’ll also receive any medications the animal may still require and a sample of its usual food to help smooth the transition to your home. You’ll also receive a free bag of Science Diet food to get your pet started right.
How to Adopt
Complete an Adoption Application
If you are interested in adopting an animal, you must first fill out an Adoption Application. This helps us know more about your lifestyle and ability to care for a pet long-term. You must also be over 21 years old or have an adult co-sign the adoption paperwork. Click here to fill out the Adoption Application.
Set Up an Appointment
Please call to schedule an appointment with our Director once you have completed your application. We have a small staff, so it helps if you don’t show up unannounced. (Of course, you can always visit the facility to see what animals are available.) And, if you have your heart set on a particular animal you’ve seen on our Facebook page, please call us to confirm the pet is still available.
Bring a Buddy
If you have other dogs at home, please bring them to the shelter for interaction with any new dogs you hope to adopt. It’s important that your current pets get along with any new additions before you go through the adoption process.
Foster to Adopt
If you aren’t 100% sure you’re ready for adoption, but have your eye on a particular animal, ask about fostering first. In some cases, it’s possible to take the animal home for a short time to see if you and the pet click. You need to work out the details with the Director.
Pets of the Week
Breeze
Breeze is a 1 yr old Lab/Shepherd mix and he’s such a good boy. He is friendly, does well with other dogs and children. He met our office kitty without incident. He does need work on a leash and to learn basic commands but our volunteers are good trainers and he’s smart, so that shouldn’t take long.
Arnold
Arnold is a one year old dachshund mix. He has flashy black and tan fur and is small enough to carry around. Arnold doesn’t have a lot of life skills, but he’s coming along quickly. He needs a patient owner who can teach him to walk on a leash. He’ll be a great and loyal family pet.
Kabul
Kabul is 2 years old and his long legs, slim build, and narrow muzzle suggest he might have greyhound or even Afghan hound in him. Kabul is an elegant beauty with a glossy black coat and tan and white highlights. He’s a sweet boy who looks like he’d make a great jogging or running partner.
