Pets of the Week

Adoptable pets looking for a fresh start

Here are our Pets of the Week, a small spotlight on animals who are still waiting for the families they deserve. Each of these pets is currently available for adoption through the Franklin County Humane Society, and each one has a story, a personality, and so much love left to give. Some have been waiting longer than others, but all are ready for a fresh start. If one of these faces speaks to you, you can learn more about the adoption process and how to apply on our adoption page.

Godfrey has tons of potential along with smasing good looks.

Godfrey

Godfrey is a 6 month old labrador cross with a stunning black and brown brindle coat. He’s sweet as can be (even though he’s a tad camera shy) and is ready for a forever family. Godfrey has tons of potential if someone is willing to spend a little quality time with him. He’s gorgeous inside and out.

Gerald is a 6 month old labrador mix.

Gerald

Gerald is a gorgeous 6 month old Labrador Retriever cross with a rich, chocolate coat. He’s sweet and great on the leash, but is looking for a family that will expand his social horizons.

Doc is a 4 year old Labradoodle.

Doc

Doc is a 4 yr old Labradoodle who came to us severly matted so we had him shaved. Thank you Tracy! He is now available for adoption and will be neutered next week. Doc is a very friendly, slightly goofy guy with a happy and open expression. He loves attention and should be an affectionate couch companion!

Admiral is an intelligent 2 year old yellow lab mix with enormous potential.

Admiral

Admiral is our newest resident and we are smitten! This 2 year old Lab mix has more personality than he knows what to do with. He is happy and engaging with a bright and open expression and friendly temperament. He’d make a great hiking or camping partner or all-around family pet.

Sam is a handsome, middle-aged, sweetheart loves everyone he meets.

Sam

Scrappy and Sam are 5-6 yr old best friends who have grown up together. Scrappy is a Dachshund mix and Sam is a JRT mix and both are friendly, happy guys. It’s not mandatory they be adopted together but if someone would, we’ll waive the adoption fee for one of them. These boys are house trained, crate trained and walk well on leash. They like other dogs, kids and even cats. These middle aged pups would be great for someone who doesn’t want to go through the puppy stage and would enjoy having well mannered companions.

Scrappy is a low rider, middle aged, dachshund mix who has tons of personality.

Breeze is a lovely lab/shepherd mix.

Breeze

Breeze is a 1 yr old Lab/Shepherd mix and he’s such a good boy. He is friendly, does well with other dogs and children. He met our office kitty without incident. He does need work on a leash and to learn basic commands but our volunteers are good trainers and he’s smart, so that shouldn’t take long.

Kabul is a gorgeous sight hound.

Kabul

Kabul is 2 years old and his long legs, slim build, and narrow muzzle suggest he might have greyhound or even Afghan hound in him. Kabul is an elegant beauty with a glossy black coat and tan and white highlights. He’s a sweet boy who looks like he’d make a great jogging or running partner.

Looking for a sweet dog that's also active. Check out Shelby. She loves to play and run.

Shelby

Shelby is a one year old Lab mix and is full of life! This beauty loves her walks and the people who walk her. Shelby would do best in a home with active people and an opportunity to run and play. She is a climber so a securely fenced yard is a must.
