Pets of the Week
Adoptable pets looking for a fresh start
Here are our Pets of the Week, a small spotlight on animals who are still waiting for the families they deserve. Each of these pets is currently available for adoption through the Franklin County Humane Society, and each one has a story, a personality, and so much love left to give. Some have been waiting longer than others, but all are ready for a fresh start. If one of these faces speaks to you, you can learn more about the adoption process and how to apply on our adoption page.
Whitney
Whitney is a 2 yr old Lab/Hound and she is as sweet and gentle as she looks. This pretty girl has gone from being a chained “yard dog” to being a social, staff and volunteer favorite. Whitney should make a wonderful family pet for some lucky someone.
Lady
Lady is a one year old Labrador/German Shepherd mix that just needs a little leash training to make her into an exceptional family dog. She’s super smart so she’ll learn quickly. Otherwise, she’s a lovely dog who would be a great addition to any family.
Jasmine
Jasmine is a 1 yr old Lab/German Shepherd mix. She’s working hard on her manners and is making good headway on leash. She has plenty of potential with someone who takes the time to continue her training. She has a gorgeous reddish blonde coat, too!
Penelope
Penelope is a 1 yr old Hound with the sweetest face and temperament. This pretty girl only weighs 37 lbs which is a nice, manageable size for most people. She is gentle and loving, a perfect family dog!
BeeBee
BeeBee is a 1 yr old German Shepherd/Lab mix. She is a social and happy 40 lb sweetheart. This girl loves her walks and plays well with others. Just a really nice dog who sports a handsome black and tan fur coat. She just needs a forever family.
Jake
Jake is a 2 yr old Dalmation mix. He is a handsome and fun-loving guy who seems to like everyone, including cats. His liver colored freckles and spots are sure to draw attention wherever he goes!
Breeze
Breeze is a 1 yr old Lab/Shepherd mix and he’s such a good boy. He is friendly, does well with other dogs and children. He met our office kitty without incident. He does need work on a leash and to learn basic commands but our volunteers are good trainers and he’s smart, so that shouldn’t take long.
Kabul
Kabul is 2 years old and his long legs, slim build, and narrow muzzle suggest he might have greyhound or even Afghan hound in him. Kabul is an elegant beauty with a glossy black coat and tan and white highlights. He’s a sweet boy who looks like he’d make a great jogging or running partner.
Shelby
Shelby is a one year old Lab mix and is full of life! This beauty loves her walks and the people who walk her. Shelby would do best in a home with active people and an opportunity to run and play. She is a climber so a securely fenced yard is a must.
