Pets of the Week

Adoptable pets looking for a fresh start

Here are our Pets of the Week, a small spotlight on animals who are still waiting for the families they deserve. Each of these pets is currently available for adoption through the Franklin County Humane Society, and each one has a story, a personality, and so much love left to give. Some have been waiting longer than others, but all are ready for a fresh start. If one of these faces speaks to you, you can learn more about the adoption process and how to apply on our adoption page.

Looking for a sweet dog that's also active. Check out Shelby. She loves to play and run.

Shelby

Shelby is a one year old Lab mix and is full of life! This beauty loves her walks and the people who walk her. Shelby would do best in a home with active people and an opportunity to run and play. She is a climber so a securely fenced yard is a must.

Make Cleopatra the Queen of your home.

Cleopatra

The littermate to Anthony, Cleopatra (German Shepherd/Cur mix) sports a gorgeous mask that would rival any beauty on the Nile. She’s a lovely, sweet, happy dog who is on the shy side but quickly blooming into a social butterfly. She’d be the perfect Queen for any family.

Anthony is an easy care dog who loves the water.

Anthony

Anthony is a 5 month German Shepherd/Cur mix who has quickly become a happy, friendly dog. He has a pretty yellow coat and loves to splash in water. Anthony is also a medium size so the perfect size for car rides to the beach.

Elmer is a loving, young Border Collie mix.

Elmer

Elmer is a sweet, 5 month old Border Collie mix who would love to join your family. Elmer is smart as a whip and is a quick learner who would excel in obedience. He was brought to us because he chased chickens, but if you’re home is poultry free, Elmer will do just fine. He’s great on a leash and his gorgeous black and white coat is just stunning

Cherry the happy lab mix.

Cherry

Cherry is an 11 month old Lab mix with a beautiful expression and happy attitude. This pretty girl likes other dogs and thinks people are great. She should make a wonderful family pet because she’s a love bug, never happier then when she’s with her people.

Snoopy the pointer mix.

Snoopy

Snoopy is a 5-year-old Pointer mix who’s housebroken and great with kids, dogs, and cats. He’s full of gentle, happy-go-lucky charm, and truly the best dog you will ever have. Snoopy sports a snazzy black and white coat and his tail is always wagging. He gets along with everyone and is great on the leash.

Rosie the German Shepherd

Rosie

If you’re looking for a loyal, intelligent, and constant companion, check out Rosie the German Shepherd dog. This gorgeous canine loves people and gets along with most other dogs. We estimate that Rosie is between 3 and 4 years old so her crazy puppy years are behind her, making her a terrific pet for anyone. She’s a quick study and great on the leash. This is a special gem of a dog needs a family of her own.

Buster

Buster is a two year old, 45 pound beagle mix and he is obviously very handsome! Buster is a little shy at first but is making headway in that department. He appears to prefer men but is fine with women as well. Buster does not have a lot of life experience so we are looking for someone who has the time to help him gain trust and confidence. If you can provide him the home he needs

Clarice is a happy, athletic 10 month old.

Clarice

Do you love to play tug of war? Clarice sure does and would love to challenge you to a friendly game. This happy, athletic, 10 month old female bully would make an excellent running partner or obedience prospect. She’s smart, playful, and ready for anything. Clarice is also great on the leash and wears a showy striped coat.
