Find Your New Best Friend
Meet our adoptable pets and change two lives: theirs and yours
Because many of our animals are transported to larger shelters within the state, it’s challenging for us to maintain an updated photo montage of dogs and cats in our care. Therefore, we highly recommend you check our Facebook page regularly if you are interested in adopting a new pet. Or, better yet, stop between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM ET, Monday through Saturday, and take a look at the available felines and canines in our care. Plus, remember you can always call (850) 670-8417 at any time if you are looking for a specific animal, breed, size, or age.

Our Animals
All of the animals we offer for adoption will have been spayed or neutered and have received the appropriate vaccinations for their age. You’ll also receive any medications the animal may still require and a sample of its usual food to help smooth the transition to your home. You’ll also receive a free bag of Science Diet food to get your pet started right.
How to Adopt
Complete an Adoption Application
If you are interested in adopting an animal, you must first fill out an Adoption Application. This helps us know more about your lifestyle and ability to care for a pet long-term. You must also be over 21 years old or have an adult co-sign the adoption paperwork. Click here to fill out the Adoption Application.
Set Up an Appointment
Please call to schedule an appointment with our Director once you have completed your application. We have a small staff, so it helps if you don’t show up unannounced. (Of course, you can always visit the facility to see what animals are available.) And, if you have your heart set on a particular animal you’ve seen on our Facebook page, please call us to confirm the pet is still available.
Bring a Buddy
If you have other dogs at home, please bring them to the shelter for interaction with any new dogs you hope to adopt. It’s important that your current pets get along with any new additions before you go through the adoption process.
Foster to Adopt
If you aren’t 100% sure you’re ready for adoption, but have your eye on a particular animal, ask about fostering first. In some cases, it’s possible to take the animal home for a short time to see if you and the pet click. You need to work out the details with the Director.
Pets of the Week
Buster
Buster is a two year old, 45 pound beagle mix and he is obviously very handsome! Buster is a little shy at first but is making headway in that department. He appears to prefer men but is fine with women as well. Buster does not have a lot of life experience so we are looking for someone who has the time to help him gain trust and confidence. If you can provide him the home he needs
Honey
HONEY…….Notes from foster family
We have been fostering Honey for 3 weeks. Here are some important points about Honey.
1. Honey is estimated to be around a year old. Weighs about 37 or 38 pounds. Probably a lab mixed with a smaller dog. Beautiful golden color.
2. She is pretty much totally house broken. She has had a couple of accidents, but mostly our fault for not getting her out when we knew she’d eaten or had water.
3. Honey sleeps through the night in her crate. It’s a nice roomy one so she can stretch out. If she barks while in the crate at night, it’s because she needs to go out. Most nights she hasn’t needed to be taken out. I believe she would love to sleep in her owner’s bed, but we haven’t started that, not knowing how her adopter would feel about it. We do not crate her for long periods of time, other than at night.
4. Honey is one of the sweetest little dogs we have ever fostered. For being only a year old, she has shown no puppy tendencies such as tearing up items around the house, being overly active, or chewing on things. Honestly, she acts more like a much older dog. She sleeps a lot. If you are looking for a calm smaller dog, Honey just might be for you!
